Video Recording Options

Virtual and video meetings and presentations are here to stay, and current technology is keeping pace with the demand for better tools. With so many options available for communicating online, we’ve compiled a list of technologies as a resource for entrepreneurs looking to stay current. For NYBPC students, this is a good list when you’re looking to record your pitch videos!

Zoom - Industry standard: Offers video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars (with additional charge). Easy, fast, free, and good for distance collaboration. Multiple people can screen share.

GotoMeeting - Offers online meetings, video conferencing and web conferencing with a free trial, then paid plans based on organizers/participants (base is 26 people at a time). With this tool, you have remote team access and you can highlight and draw during presentations. There’s no time limit for meetings. This product is easy to use and fits well with teams.

Knovio - Offers video hosting, online presentations, and multimedia live streaming. There is a free version, or a paid version for $24/month. The time limit is 7 minutes for the free version, and unlimited for the paid version. You can record slide-by-slide, and re-record as much as you want. This product does not offer remote team access.

Screencastify - This product is a screen recorder for Chrome. There’s no download required. Offers the ability to record, edit and share videos. The free version limits the video length to five minutes, but the $29/year subscription allows for longer videos.

Screencastomatic - Offers a screen recorder & video editor. You can add subtitles, music and crop. You can download or post to the web, draw on-screen, but you cannot use it with slides in full screen. It’s free, or has a lot more features for $4/month.

Vidyard - This is an easy, free Chrome plugin, with minimal editing options. It integrates with YouTube. There’s no possibility to collaborate. It’s free, or $15/month to download your video.
