Letter from the President: Kicking off the 2023 - 2024 Entrepreneurship Competition!

Dear Reader,

Upstate Capital organizes the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) to foster entrepreneurship through experiential education so students can gain insights and perspective on developing new ventures from people in the business community. We see the value of entrepreneurial skills, no matter what direction students take their careers, and are excited about supporting people to start (potentially investable!) businesses.

To start the new season, we’re hosting a free webinar for early-stage founders and professionals working with entrepreneurs in New York. The webinar will give an in-depth overview of resources available to current and aspiring entrepreneurs in New York on September 8 at 12PM online.

Last year’s participation, in review:

  • 590+ students from 270 teams

  • 62 participating colleges and universities

  • 160+ judges and mentors

I invite you to get involved this year. There are many ways to support entrepreneurship through the NYBPC:

Students: Compete! And apply to become a student ambassador
