New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) Competitor Website Sign‑Up Guide This is your step-by-step guide for using the NYBPC website. If you have any questions, please email Thomas Boomhower thomas@upstatecapital.org Introduction Welcome to the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC)! This guide is designed to help competitors successfully register for the competition through our website. By following the steps below, you will: - Create your NYBPC account - Complete your Profile by Creating a Team (even if you're a team of one!) - Submit the Required Materials What You’ll Need Before You Start Before you begin, make sure you have the following: - A valid email address you check regularly - Basic information about your startup or business idea - Contact information for your team (if applicable) Step 1: Visit the NYBPC Website and Create Your Account 1. Open your web browser and go to NYBPC.org. 2. In the top-right corner of the homepage, click the SIGN UP button. 3. Create Your Account 4. Enter Your Student Email Address (.edu) 5. Create a Password 6. Select Your Role (Student) After creating your account, you can access your profile by either: - Clicking Profile in the top-right corner, or - Clicking My Submissions in the upper-left corner under the NYBPC logo. Step 4: Create A Team and Team Submission (DUE BY March 15 @11:59 PM) 1. Navigate to My Submissions. 2. Click the green + New Submission button. 3. Complete every field in the form. a. If a field does not apply to you, enter NA. 4. MOST IMPORTANT: Be sure to enter at least one email address in the field labeled “Enter all team members’ email addresses.” 5. Click Submit Team. Step 5: Create a Submission (DUE BY March 15 @11:59PM) Once your team has been created: Go to My Submissions. 1. Click + New Submission. 2. Under the dropdown labeled Create a New Team, select Create Team Submission. 3. Complete all required fields. 4. Submit Required Materials: a. Executive Summaries are due March 15 by 11:59 PM b. Slide Decks Due Date Depends on Your Regional Deadline (https://nybpc.org/students) c. Videos are Not Required for the Regional Round d. Please note, file size should be no more than 12 MB. If your file is larger than 12 MB, please send it to thomas@upstatecapital.org Editing Submissions: - You may edit submissions from the My Submissions page. - Previously entered information will pre-populate If you have any questions or concerns contact thomas@upstatecapital.org
