New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) Competitor Website Sign‑Up Guide This is your step-by-step guide for using the NYBPC website. If you have any questions, please email Thomas Boomhower thomas@upstatecapital.org Introduction Welcome to the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC)! This guide is designed to help competitors successfully register for the competition through our website. By following the steps below, you will: - Create your NYBPC account - Complete your competitor profile - Register for the appropriate competition track What You’ll Need Before You Start Before you begin, make sure you have the following: - A valid email address you check regularly - Basic information about your startup or business idea - Contact information for your team (if applicable) Step 1: Visit the NYBPC Website 1. Open your web browser and go to NYBPC.org. 2. In the top-right corner of the homepage, click the SIGN UP button. Step 2: Create an Account 1. After clicking SIGN UP, enter your email address. 2. Create a password. 3. Select your role as Student. 4. Submit the form to create your account. Step 3: Account Approval Email After signing up, your account must be approved. • Be on the lookout for an Account Approval Email. • If you have not received an approval email within 24 hours, please contact: thomas@upstatecapital.org You will not be able to proceed until your account is approved. Step 4: Log In and Access Your Profile 1. Once approved, return to NYBPC.org. 2. Click the SIGN UP button again. 3. Select the Log In option. 4. Enter the same email and password you used to sign up. After logging in, you can access your account by either: - Clicking Profile in the top-right corner, or - Clicking My Submissions in the upper-left corner under the NYBPC logo. Step 5: Create a Team 1. From your dashboard, navigate to My Submissions. 2. Click the green + New Submission button. 3. Complete every field in the form. o If a field does not apply to you, enter NA. 4. MOST IMPORTANT: Be sure to enter at least one email address in the field labeled “Enter all team members’ email addresses.” 5. Click Submit Team. Step 6: Create a Submission Once your team has been created: 1. Log in to your NYBPC Student Account. 2. Go to My Submissions. 3. Click + New Submission. 4. Under the dropdown labeled Create a New Team, select Create Team Submission. 5. Complete all required fields. Please note: Videos are optional for the Regional Competition. 6. Submit your materials. Editing Submissions: - You may edit submissions from the My Submissions page. - If you create an entirely new submission, your previous submission will not be accessible. - If you need information from a previous submission, contact: thomas@upstatecapital.org
